When you have a sore shoulder you can’t sleep on it, it hurts to get dressed, can’t hang up the washing let alone do any sporting tasks.
What works well with shoulders is a really thorough assessment not just on your shoulder but on your neck, back, rest of your arm and even down to your legs with how you walk/hop/run. You need to make sure everything is doing 100% of it’s job so your shoulder doesn’t have to do more than necessary. This, combined with some very specific pain relieving exercises, helps settle down your shoulder and allows you to go onto the next phase of strengthening it so it can handle whatever you want to do with it whether that be playing netball or just having a good night’s sleep.
