Defining what is causing your hip pain and how you can solve it
Hip problems can cause a lot of issues in everyday life, this can be from sitting at work, sleeping and doing daily jobs at home.
Our patients report that their hips have been a problem for a while and have struggled for a solution.
It is common to hear that patients have tried a different physio and even attended a massage therapist for relief but the issue always seems to comes back.
Does any of the below resemble yourself:
Has your hip pain stopped you from doing common jobs and turned them into something you avoid?
Has it stopped you from going places with the family as it is too hard to sit in the car?
“I haven’t cleaned the cupboards for a while because I can not get on and off the floor”.
“I used to walk every day but now I struggle to do the grocery’s”.
“I used to be able to sleep however I wanted. Now I can’t sleep on a certain side”.
These are common stories we often hear at Elite physio. As we treat each client as an individual, we make the treatment to suit you, not you suit the treatment.
So how do you deal with recurring hip pain, medication, stretching/exercise or surgery?
Our first step in treatment is finding what you would like help solving, then set out a plan to get you there.
With hip pain we need to make sure that the hips are moving the way they were created to. Then we look at habits that may increase the likelihood of recurring hip problems.
By looking at the body as a whole, we can make the best decisions that are right for you. Our treatment plan may start with hands-on therapy from one of our physiotherapists moving towards a graded exposure exercise pathway with our exercise physiologist.
